A man was stabbed this week on Seven Sisters Road near Finsbury Park.

Muit Pasugulu was stabbed in the Berlula Telecoms internet café at around 3.50pm Sunday afternoon.

Witnesses said Mr Pasugulu, 31, was stabbed in the hand and torso, but police said his injuries were not life threatening.

‘Three men’ in fight

A witness, who wished to remain anonymous, saw a fight while she smoked outside The Halfway House bar next door.

“There were three of them fighting, and one had a knife. [Mr Pasugulu] had already been stabbed before they came out, he was shouting ‘Don’t kill me, please don’t kill me.’

“I threw my cigarette on the ground and went back inside; I didn’t want to see any more.”

Mohammed Bhatti, who owns the butcher’s shop next door, said: “I saw a man clutching his stomach with blood on his hands. A woman called the police and he sat down waiting for the ambulance.”

Knife found

A knife was found on Sussex Way, a short distance from the café, police told residents.

Sussex Way resident Edmund Hardy, 31, said: “I heard voices on the street, and someone say ‘Stop that man’. It was a man’s voice and it sounded urgent.

“I looked outside and saw the police van stopping and talk to the men opposite my window.” His flatmate Amy Cutler, 27, saw the suspects as she walked down the road. “There were two young men being patted down and searched,” she said.

“There were about six police officers and they were encircling them.”

At least five police vans attended the scene, along with two ambulances.

A man who lives above the internet café said: “I went out to the shops and came back five minutes later to see a crowd of people outside the shop.”

He added that the victim was in his twenties. “I saw a man with blood on his neck and on his stomach being taken away.”

Matthew Allan, 26, saw Mr Pasugulu being put in the ambulance: “He seemed pretty shaky on his feet and was limping a bit. He didn’t look in the best shape.”

Mehmet Baglam, 28, appeared in Highbury Corner Magistrate’s Court on Monday charged with wounding with intent. He was remanded in custody and his trial will be held at Black Friars Crown Court on 4 April 2013.
